Laying the Groundwork for Promotion of Japan’s Global Sport Policies:Towards the Implementation of Agreements Made at the ASEAN Plus Japan Ministerial Meeting on Sports

Initiative Overview

This initiative works to advance the intergovernmental collaborative goals set out at the ASEAN Plus Japan Ministerial Meeting on Sport. The overall aim is to promote sustainable development and peace in the participating countries using sport.
The initiative focuses on implementing programs in ASEAN member states that promote inclusive quality Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) and Sport for People with Disabilities (SPD). These programs and their activities are outlined below.
