NSSU is engaging in both fundamental research and applied research to solve specific problems and challenges while promoting cooperation across different areas of specialty in multidisciplinary studies, and is widely sharing the results with the world.
Athletic Department
NSSU’sAthletic Department consists of three functional units, namely sports management, sports facility management and operation, and athletic capability enhancement support, which are designed to jointly implement an athletic capability enhancement support program, help its student athletes with their capacity improvement, and achieve results in athletic competitions, in a unified manner across the university organization.
Nittaidai Athlete Support System (NASS)
Of the three functional units that comprise the Athletic Department,NASS’smain responsibility is athletic capability enhancement support. Its High Performance Center (HPC), Center for Coaching Excellence (CCE), and Sports Training Center (STC) cooperate with each other in providing comprehensive support to athletes to cultivate their capacity and improve their competitive performance capability.
Japan Association for University Athletics and Sport (UNIVAS)
In March 2019, the Japan Association for University Athletics and Sport (UNIVAS) was established for the purpose of promoting sports among Japanese universities.As an active UNIVAS member, NSSU provides support to its students in various forms in their sports club and circle activities, while promoting varsity sports in general by participating and cooperating in various UNIVAS-hosted events.
Social contribution promotion projects
NSSU is actively engaged in social outreach services through physical education and sport, while cultivating its network of alumni that are making an impact at local and national levels.
