Comprehensive Sport Science Research Center

The Comprehensive Sport Science Research Center is responsible for facilitating research activities in a comprehensive and systematic manner, securing research budgets and human resources, maintaining research facilities, systems, and equipment, and handling other tasks to promote various research projects that take place at NSSU.

Research Institute for Sport Science

The range of research topics covered at the Research Institute for Sport Science includes studies of children’s bodies, research on the achievement of high performance in athletic competitions, sport culture studies involving sports sociology and sports history, and basic research in physiology and biochemistry concerning health-related topics, which all play to the strengths of NSSU.

The Research Institute for Olympic and Sport Culture is responsible for conducting academic studies of the Olympics and thereby manifesting NSSU’s founding spirit; making broad contributions to social welfare around the world; and being a driving force behind the progress of sport culture in Japan.

Research Institute for Risk Management in Sport

The Research Institute for Risk Management in Sport is responsible for conducting research on the various problematic events (i.e., incidents, accidents, infliction of injuries, corporal punishment, various types of harassment, doping, etc.) that must be addressed in all sporting activities under proper risk management, and for exploring specific ways through which to prevent, deal with, and improve such events.

NSSU Emergency Resuscitation and Disaster Medicine Laboratory

The NSSU Emergency Resuscitation and Disaster Medicine Laboratory is working all year round to host a wide variety of events in order to actively promote academic and cultural interactions and communication within and beyond NSSU. The outcome of, and findings from, such activities are presented in research reports and at academic conferences, which are also used for faculty and student education.
