　日本体育大学は、2021年11月に「ダイバーシティ検討プロジェクト」を立ち上げました。これは、私が学長就任以来掲げている本学のさらなる発展、つまり「日体維新」を実現するにあたり、より多様性を包摂し組織を活性化させるための施策の一つです。
　当プロジェクトでは、まず、D&I推進における全学的な指標として「日本体育大学D&I推進宣言」の策定に取りかかりました。宣言文の策定では、プロジェクト内での議論を重ねることは勿論、より多様な視点を反映できるよう全学的なパブリックコメントを実施するなど本学構成員の声を集約する経緯を経て確定に至りました。
　貴重なご意見を下さった皆さまに感謝を申し上げます。宣言文がより本学らしく、さらに有意義な内容となったと感じております。今後のD&I推進の取組にあたっては、引き続き皆さまのご意見を伺いながら進めて参ります。
　この宣言文がこれからの日体大の変化において、重要な視座となることを大いに期待しています。

1．D&I を推進し、配慮を必要とする本学全構成員に対する相談・支援体制を整備します。

2．D&I の視点に立った環境及び組織作り、人材育成を推進します。

3．D&I 推進に関する意識を啓発し、大学の意思決定において多様な構成員の意見が反映されるよう努めます。

 

【D&I 推進宣言の趣旨】

日本体育大学は、1891年の創立以来、我が国の体育・スポーツを牽引する教育機関として発展してきました。この130余年、本学では世界レベルの優秀な競技者・指導者の育成を推進し続けると共に、体育・身体活動・スポーツを通じた健康で豊かな社会・人づくりの実現、さらにはスポーツのもつ様々な力を活用して、国際平和の実現に寄与することを揺るぎない使命としてきました。

昨今の社会では、人々の多様性を重んじ、また個を尊重することで人としての基本的なあり方を再認識する必要性が謳われています。しかし、教育や研究、また就労の場におけるダイバーシティおよびインクルージョン推進の観点から考えると、本学には未だ多くの課題があり、これらの理念をいっそう浸透させていかなければならない状況にあります。これは、新しい日体大の姿を追求していく上で、重要な視点の1つであると考えます。
元来スポーツは、方法を工夫することで年齢や性別、障がいの有無などにかかわらず、誰もが親しむことができるものです。一方でスポーツには、優越、支配、権力などと強い親和性を有する側面があります。スポーツが併せ持つこれらの側面を意識しながら、個人や集団におけるダイバーシティ（多様性）が当たり前に受け入れられ、インクルージョン（包摂）される環境作りに取り組むことは、本学組織の活力をより高め、さらなる社会的責任を果たしていくために不可欠であると考えます。
人間には、人種、肌の色、ジェンダー、性的指向、性自認、障がいの有無と種類、出自、言語、文化、宗教など、実に様々な側面があります。日本体育大学は、これらの多様性を尊重しながら、建学の精神である「體育富強之基」を基本として、真に豊かで持続可能な社会の実現と、心身ともに健康で体育・スポーツの普及と発展を積極的に推進できる人材の育成に務めます。そして個々の多様性が真に受容、尊重される環境の実現のため、ここにD&I推進を宣言します。

ダイバーシティ＆インクルージョン推進への取組

2021年度

• 日本体育大学ダイバーシティ検討プロジェクト発足
• 「日本体育大学ダイバーシティ＆インクルージョン推進宣言（案）」の起草および 全学的パブリックコメントにより宣言文への意見を募集
• 生理用ナプキン無料配布化の検討を開始

2022年度

• パブリックコメントを経て「日本体育大学ダイバーシティ＆インクルージョン推進宣言」公表
• 女子トイレ及び多目的トイレの一部に無料生理用ナプキンのディスペンサーを設置
• 日体フェスティバル2022においてLGBTQ+に関わるイベント「プライドフェア」を開催
• 世田谷区との連携のもと写真展「介護プライド」を両キャンパスにて実施
• 国際交流センターとの共催により国際理解に関わるイベント（映画上映、WS等）の実施

2023年度

• 学生向けにD&I推進をテーマとする講義を実施 （4月：新入生オリエンテーション、７月：スキルアップセミナー（予定））
• 他大学とのD&I推進に関わる情報交換（流通経済大学・ダイバーシティ共創センター）

Announcement: NSSU “Promoting Diversity and Inclusion” Declaration

In November 2021, Nippon Sport Science University (NSSU) launched the “Diversity Promotion Project” which aims to embrace more diversity and revitalize our university to realize the further development. This is a part of our huge reformation :“日体維新（Ni-ttai-isin）” which I have promoted since I was appointed to the president of NSSU.
In this project, we first made a move to create NSSU“Promoting Diversity and Inclusion Declaration” to be used as a guideline. And in the process of our decision, we valued gathering the voices of all NSSU members as we asked for the public comment and reflected more diverse perspectives, as well as we discussed within the project again and again.
Thank you to all NSSU members who participated in this public comment or giving advice that made the declaration feels more meaningful and individual. And we will keep asking for your ideas and voices to embody our D&I promotion.
I hope that this declaration will be an important point of view in the future changes.

NSSU "Promoting Diversity and Inclusion" Declaration

1. We will promote diversity and inclusion and create a support system for all NSSU members who need special care.
2. We will promote the creation of an environment and organization for developing human resources from the perspective of diversity and inclusion.
3. We will raise awareness of promoting diversity and inclusion and work on reflecting the opinions of all members in the decision-making of our university.
 
【The Aim of the Declaration】
Since its foundation in 1891, Nippon Sport Science University has developed as an educational institute that leads the way in physical education and sport in Japan.
   For over 130 years, while we have kept developing world-class athletes and coaches, we have treasured our firm mission to contribute to the realization of a more healthy and prospered society and people through physical education, bodily action, and sport, and maintaining international peace with the power of sport.
   In recent years, there has been a necessity to recognize the fundamental well-being of a human by respecting both people’s diversity and the individual as a person. However, from the perspective of promoting diversity and inclusion in the field of education, research, and employment, we are now facing a situation where we need to encourage diversity and inclusion further. It is one of the most crucial perspectives to enhance our new standards. 
   Essentially, with a mix of methods and creativity, anyone should be able to enjoy sport regardless of age, gender, and disability. However, it can be said that sport has a high affinity for superiority, dominance, and power. Keeping in our mind these aspects of sport, we will work on the mission to create an environment in which diversity in the community and for an individual is included and taken for granted. We believe these actions are significant to further invigorate our organization and fulfill our social responsibility. 
   We as human beings have diversity such as human race, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, birthplace, family background, language, culture, religion, etc. Based on our founding spirit “體育富強之基”（TAI IKU FU KYO NO MOTOI）, Nippon Sport Science University will respect diversity and develop each person who is physically and mentally healthy and who can actively contribute to the promotion and development of physical education and sport. To create an environment in which diversity is truly accepted and respected, we hereby declare the promotion of diversity and inclusion.
