ロシアによるウクライナへの軍事侵攻について（学長メッセージ）

　日本体育大学は、戦時下における過去の重い歴史を教訓とし、世界の平和と民族の友好のためにスポーツを通じて様々な活動をしてきました。また、オリンピック・パラリンピックムーブメントの精神を実践し、その普及を推進してきました。
 
　現在、ロシアによるウクライナへの軍事侵攻は、本学のこれまでの活動とは相容れないものであり、暴力によって多くの人を傷つけ、命を奪い、心身の健康を脅かすものです。子ども達やスポーツに携わる者の未来を奪うことにも繋がります。また、北京冬季オリンピック・パラリンピック大会の開催時に国連総会で採択された休戦協定を踏みにじるものであるといえます。
 
　多くの人が健康で豊かな生活を維持し、また子ども達やアスリートが夢を持ってスポーツをはじめとした文化的な活動に興じるためには、世界の平和が前提となります。
 
　本学は、ウクライナにおいて戦闘に巻き込まれている人々に対して心を寄せると共に、即時の戦闘停止と人々の安全の保証を強く求めます。
 

President’s message regarding the military invasion of Ukraine

Nippon Sport Science University has been engaged in various activities for world peace and friendship among peoples through sports, taking lessons from the heavy wartime history of the past. We have also put into practice the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements and promoted their spread.
 
The current military invasion of Ukraine by Russia is incompatible with the University's past activities, and the violence is hurting many people, taking lives, and threatening their physical and mental health. It will also deprive children and those involved in sports of their future. It is also a breach of the Olympic Truce adopted by the UN General Assembly for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
 
World peace is an indispensable prerequisite for many people to maintain healthy and prosperous lives, and for children and athletes to be able to dream and engage in sports and other cultural activities.
 
Our hearts go out to those who are involved in the fighting in Ukraine, and we strongly call for an immediate ceasefire and a guarantee of people's safety.
