大学評価・自己点検

平成16（2004）年度から、すべての大学、短期大学、高等専門学校は、学校教育法及び同法施行令に基づき、その教育研究水準の向上に資するため、教育研究、組織運営及び施設設備の総合的な状況に関し、7年以内ごとに、文部科学大臣が認証する評価機関（認証評価機関）の実施する評価を受けることが義務付けられています。

日本体育大学は、令和4（2022）年度に「公益財団法人日本高等教育評価機構」が実施する大学機関別認証評価を受審し、6月の書面調査及び10月31日から11月2日までの実地調査を経て、令和5（2023）年3月14日付で、『日本高等教育評価機構が定める評価基準に適合している』と認定されました。

なお、日本体育大学は過去2回、同じく「公益財団法人日本高等教育評価機構」による「大学機関別認証評価」を受審しており、平成20（2008）年度は平成21(2009)年3月24日付で『日本高等教育評価機構が定める大学評価基準を満たしている』との判定を、さらに平成27（2015）年度は平成28（2016）年3月8日付で『日本高等教育評価機構が定める大学評価基準に適合している』との認定をされております。

今後も本学は、「建学の精神、教育理念、これらを踏まえた教育目標の実現」を目指して、教職員が一体となって全学的な取組みを行います。また、これら教育研究等の諸活動が十分に成果をあげているのか、教育研究水準の質の向上という点で今後の課題としてはどういうことがあるのか、次代を担う人材を育成するためにはどのような課題があるのかなどについて、自己点検・評価及び認証評価の趣意を踏まえながら積極的に取り組んでまいります。

Institutional Evaluation and Accreditation

Since 2004, all universities, junior colleges, and colleges of technology are required to undergo Institutional Evaluation and Accreditation every seven years by an evaluation organization (accreditation organization) accredited by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, in order to contribute to improve their educational and research standards, in accordance with the School Education Law and its enforcement ordinance.

In 2022, the Japan Institution of Higher Education Evaluation (JIHEE) conducted an Institutional Evaluation and Accreditation of NSSU. After a written review in June and an on-site inspection from 31th October to 2nd November, they certified NSSU "has demonstrated satisfactory compliance with standards of the JIHEE" on 8th March 2023.

NSSU has received Institutional Evaluation and Accreditation by the JIHEE twice in the past, and was judged that it "has demonstrated satisfactory compliance with standards of the JIHEE" on 24th March 2009 (2008AY) and 8th March 2016 (2015AY).

NSSU will continue to make efforts with faculty and staff working in unison, to "realize the founding spirit, educational philosophy, and educational goals based on these principles". In addition, we will proactively work on the following issues, based on the intent of the self-assessment and accreditation : whether these various activities, including education and research, are producing sufficient results; what issues need to be addressed in the future in terms of improving the quality of education and research standards; and what issues need to be addressed in order to foster leaders of the next generation.
